Seascape18 teams gathered at Mastodont Cup past weekend to conclude this year’s racing on lakes and to decide the title for King of the Lakes. Though Lake Velenje provided some very difficult racing conditions with very light and shifting winds, the organisers managed to carry out all eight scheduled races.
It was Eustahije (CRO 025) with Ratko Štibrić (at the helm) and Leon Ostrez that dominated the race field on both days, by five first places and with a third place as their worst result. Blue Sardina II (SLO 080) with Teja Plešec (at the helm), Deni Szilágyi and Dejan Presen was the only team that managed to overtake Eustahije in three races and finished second overall. Third place went to the local team Mastodont (SLO 083) with Vid Slapničar (at the helm) and Ajda Njegovec on board.
To put some more oil on the fire Mastodont Cup was also the final battleground for the King of the Lakes 2013 title. By only a single point in front of their nearest rival, the prestigious title will be going to Eustahije (CRO 025) with Ratko Šibrić at the helm, with a total of 42 points achieved.
You can find the official Mastodont Cup 2013 results and photos on the organiser’s webpage at www.kvs-velenje.si.
Congratulations to all contestants, and see you at this year’s final event in Portorož on October 19th and 20th. You wouldn’t want to miss the last event, would you? We might have some surprises for you....
