Great two days for a new season opening with 15 SeaScape teams on the water, 12 Flying Dutchman’s and 3 Melges 24 crews.
Light wind with 4-8 knots made it challenging for all the teams, steady hand and a good focus to catch the smallest gust, were the key to winning the race.
Last year newcomer, Robert Vyšata with Teja Plešec on Bohemia Apple dominated the regatta, with Dušan Puh and Jure Jerman closely behind. The third place was taken by a SeaScape team with Jon Brecelj on the helm, closely followed by Mastodont guys from Velenje.
Among Seascape teams we were glad to see guests from Germany with Benjamin Lorenz on the helm and Austria with Rudi Gerzer and his daughter Esther taking a great 6th place.
New owners and teams always bring new joy to the fleet; Croatian team sailing a renovated Seascape 003 named Majla, Slovenian team on 008 called Bullit, and a new team of young Croatian beginners sailing the famous 023, Boat of the Year.
Never mind the light wind conditions, the Flying Dutchman’s were flying anyway, with Atal Kardos from Hungary taking the 1st place.
Three Melges teams were having a great time with Little Big Man taking the 1st place.
See you soon on Traunsee Woche, 29.05.- 01.06., Gmunden, Austria.
